I think it does. Near as I can tell the VW was to the right of the bike at the traffic light, and the tire squeal was the car, not the bike. There's no yelling or gesturing while at the light, so prior to it going green I don't think there was an issue between the two. VW driver upset he was outrun when the light changed?

Yeah I just read the YT description.

Just for everyone to know. I was NOT trying to race him, and I know the video makes it seem so. But I just wanted to pass him since I noticed he kept staying right next to me. I accelerated a bit to pass him but slowed down when I noticed I was approaching speed limit as well the a yellow light. The guy, for some odd reason, cut right behind me when I passed him, cutting off my friend and tailing me very closely (according to my friend). I didn't notice him behind me since he did it so abruptly, I assume he either got pissed that he thought I was trying to race him? Or that I purposely brake checked him? I was about to tell him that my intention wasn't was to race him but he got all macho on me.

People don't realize that motorcycle gear is usually head to toe Kevlar. Literally the dumbest idea is to get in a fight with a guy in full gear, just imagine getting hit by a Kevlar glove.

Yea. Even a squid in a t-shirt and shorts wearing only a full face would be dumb. My big head has hit trees, rocks, and pavement wearing full faces, and hard. Worst I've come away with (head injury wise) was a minor concussion (probably didn't help my buddies took me to the bar later to drink it off...).

Crappy gear has saved me from broken bones and torn skin a few times. you want to put yourself up against that. You're more foolish than originally thought.

Damn......I don't have a motorcycle, but I ride a bicycle in heavy traffic during the spring/summer/fall riding season.

I have a 12 oz container of bear fogger mace attached to my handlebars for such an occasion. It works very well..... I emptied out a container of it into the window of some douchenozzle in a lifted bro truck a couple years ago after he tried to squeeze me off the road into a row of parked cars.

I caught up to him at the next light.........I didn't stick around to see how bad I rustled his jimmies.

Like others said, if there's nothing that happened before this video to prompt the attack this guy is real piece of work.

That being said I ride a lot in traffic in Los Angeles (this looks like California, no?) and I've had people get inexplicably mad at me for things that are totally legal, or for taking liberties in order to ensure my safety. I've had cars tailgate me for no reason, follow me after lane splitting at reasonable speeds in stopped traffic, get irate that I don't turn into traffic that I deem unsafe from a red, pull out on me from a side street without looking, and of course the pass and brake check maneuver. All of this usually followed by the bird and honks. It's a rare occasion but it does happen. This guy is on the way far end of the spectrum.

Overall I'm cool with all that. I understand that as a rider it's my job to protect myself and that I always have the choice of being defensive. No sense in waiting for that bomb to go off. If a car and a bike collide I lose no matter what. Fuck those odds.

Kudos to the biker for keeping his cool and letting assholes be assholes.
